Such a brilliant initiative and addition to Karachi. The hill since so many decades was barren and the best hiding place for drug addicts. Now it is converted into a nice small urban forest on the hill along with various trails for walking and enjoying the views of the city. Thousands of trees have been planted already and in couple of years this place would be a small forest right in the middle of the city. Kudos to city government and anyone involved in the restoration of this hill.

A breath of fresh air in an urban jungle of ill planned and disorganised tall buildings. Falaknuma with its landmark Kidney Hill a 62-acre space was and later named 'Ahmed Ali Park' in honour of the Cornell-educated master planner of the various land development schemes in Karachi over the 1960s and 70s. Falaknuma comprised an open water reservoir for the surrounding population. The topographical features of the site were to be developed as a Recreational Scheme, comprising playgrounds, horse ride path, club, restaurants, gardens, a lake, tennis courts, a science museum/ observatory and preservation of the rock to be known as Jabal Tariq as a landmark of the city according to the original plan. Since its recent renovation, Kidney Hill Park has become a popular site for citizens and birds alike, who are drawn to its lush green gardens. At least 60,000 different kinds of trees bloom with fruits and flowers making for scenic walks and picnics. The kidney-shaped hill, which lends the park its name, offers mesmerising sunsets and sunrises to those willing to climb atop. Besides its rich sights - the coastal belt can also be seen from the hill - the park also boasts tracks for jogging, trekking and cycling.

I visited the park ️ before Ramzan, place is quite empty as the development is in process. 6-12 month are needed for the development to be finished. Park is really big, and on the hill top. Masjid And Mazar is within the park. Around 50 varieties of plant, trees are present ( as by the Govt. Project). Pictures Attached

I am really impressed with idea of establishing this hill station in the midst of Karachi. Great job KMC on this and maintaining it so far. I hope this goes as planned and it becomes a full fledged forest some day. The trails are awesome, it's family friendly as well as vast pathways for trekking, cycling, motorbikes or even cars! A MUST VIST

Area is quite big and lot of space for long walk and hiking. Facilities wise, this place still lack basic facilities like rest rooms for ladies and gents. Trees are being planted widely which will result in urban forest in couple of years. Ample amount of trash bins available throughout the area. Authorities must make sure to install the camera to strengthen safety and place guards for visitors security. Area gets closed at sunset, would be very exciting to view 360 view of Karachi city in night time.
